Social Protection Minister Leo Varadkar has described a speech given by Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin as a "sad" and "angry rant."
In a heightening of tensions between the pair, Mr Varadkar said the address given by Mr Martin in Bodenstown yesterday was "largely uninspiring".
During his speech, Mr Martin accused Mr Varadkar of being obsessed with PR.
Speaking to reporters in Tallaght on Monday, Mr Varadkar hit back and challenged Mr Martin to spell out his vision as a potential future Taoiseach.
"Really, Micheal Martin's speech was largely an angry rant at everyone - the Government, Fine Gael, the British Government, me personally. Largely it was uninspiring," he added.
