There are few venues on the planet where president-elect Donald Trump could be upstaged but of he makes his way to Madison Square Garden tomorrow night, he may have to take a backseat to Conor McGregor.
UFC president Dana White has suggested that one of Trump's first public appearances, since defeating Hillary Clinton in Tuesday's American presidential election, could come at UFC 205 tomorrow night in Manhattan.
He told TMZ: "Donald originally told me that he would come to the fight if he won. I don't think Donald really realised what his duties were going to be had he won.
"I don't know, we'll see. No pressure to come but it wouldn't suck if he came.
"Having met President Barack Obama on Thursday, and amidst protests at his election, Trump may swerve the engagement.
White added: "He's been a friend of mine for 15, 16 years. I'm happy for him.
"He's the President now, you know what I expect from him? I expect nothing. Good for him.
"He went out there, he worked hard, he campaigned, he's the President now, he won and I don't expect to be on the phone with him everyday or anything.
"I'm happy for him, and hopefully he gets in there and does some good things for this country."
Trump became the first US president-elect who never held office before, if Conor McGregor beats Eddie Alvarez he will become the first fighter to hold two UFC titles concurrently.
