OSHER Gunsberg had a heated clash on-air with his radio co-host Matty Acton on Thursday and Kate Langbroek was having none of it.

Langbroek, who co-hosts KIIS FM’s Drive show with Dave Hughes, hit back at Gunsberg for calling Acton a “puppet for the patriarchy” yesterday afternoon.

“There are many things that Osher Gunsburg can call people out on,” Langbroek said.

“He’s a vegan, he’s an honourable man ... whatever …. but being a puppet for the patriarchy is not something he can call anybody else out on because he works on a show called The Bachelor that pimps out a dozen young women to one man who’s often a stripper, not always,” she added.

As well as likening the reality show to one that “pimps out young women”, Langbroek also

“You cannot, Osher Gunsberg, accuse anybody else of being a puppet, a tool or any part of the patriarchy as long as you are this person.”

The show then proceeded to play a snippet of Osher’s audio from The Bachelor.

“Emily you also got back to basics this week and your single date which by the looks of the rose in your hand clearly went well, you’re safe tonight.”

Things got heated between Gunsberg and Acton on Thursday when Acton referred to a listener’s “boss” as male.

Acton: I reckon it’s the manager’s call. It’s gotta be ... your boss, if he’s sweet with it.

Gunsberg: If she’s sweet with it, Matty.

Acton: Can I say anything at the moment?

Gunsberg: Yeah you can, but you do have an implicit bias to constantly put men in ...

Acton: If it’s he, she, maybe you’re transgender, maybe you’re a lesbian, I don’t care.

Gunsberg: Don’t be like this. Don’t dismiss it.

Acton: I’m not dismissing it. You’re just being an arsehole at the moment.

The on-air clash came to a head when Gunsberg called his co-host “a puppet for the patriarchy” before attempting to cross to a caller.

“Yeah, run away you p*ssy,” Acton replied.

Acton discussed their heated discussion yesterday morning calling it “just a misunderstanding”.

“Me and Osh are fine. We worked it out in about three minutes ... All is sweet, until we have our next fight,” he added.

Hughesy & Kate can be heard on the drive home from 4 — 6pm on the national KIIS Network.
