IF the bugs of summer weren’t enough for Adele to endure during her first Australian tour, spare a thought for the 28-year-old singer handling the heat in her stage gown.
The English singer’s stylist may not have checked the long range forecast when commissioning the dress from Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad.
With skirts buoyed by tulle and 10,000 Swarovski crystals weighing it down, Adele admits the off-the-shoulder gown has her sweating up a storm on stage.

“The weight is going to fall off me during this tour,” she joked with the Perth crowd on opening night last week.
“My thighs are dripping. Also I’ve only got one of these dresses so it’s going to stink in a few shows.”
Adele again endearingly over-shared with her adoring audience about her summertime suffering during the opening night in Brisbane last week.
“I’m sure you can tell I’m not cut out for your weather,” she said.
“My makeup has already come off. I’m shining. Even my eyelids are sweating. I’ve never worn a dress like this. I’m basically celebrating Beauty and The Beast coming out.”
The gown reportedly took 500 hours to craft and was adapted from the design Murad unveiled on the runway of his 2015 autumn collection.
He told Billboard that Adele wanted the sleeves lengthened from the original design and hemline altered to allow the singer easy movement around the circular stage in her comfy flats.

“She decided that she wanted to modify it a bit by adding a longer sleeve and she liked the idea of adding more crystals to the bodice to make the gown really sparkle on stage,” Murad told Billboard.
“Her stylist (Gaelle Paul) also shared notes on adjustments that would need to be made to accommodate the particulars of how she has to move onstage and other technical elements of the show.”
Adele almost face-planted in the frock when she tripped on its train while climbing the stairs during her first Brisbane show last Saturday.
“I don’t know if you saw, but after you did your marvellous sing along to the Hello chorus, I nearly tripped up those stairs did you see me, Oh My God!” she said.
“I forgot to lift it up and tried to run up and nearly fell over. I’m sure you heard my dodgy note afterwards, I f*****g s**t myself.”

Adele only has the one dress for her Australian tour — switching to a black suit when it became sauna-like before the encore in Brisbane — unlike the 10 copies she had of her Burberry costume for the US leg of the world tour.
While the 25 superstar had originally planned several costume changes for her show — as pop princesses do — she stuck with the idea of just one outfit after her Adele: Live In New York City performance to launch her record-breaking album in late 2015
The sparkly Christopher Bailey-designed gown was inspired by a Burberry minidress.
“It’s a flower print done in sequin, and the sequins flow in different directions,” Paul told Billboard. “It’s an unusual fabric technique, creating the galaxy-star effect you see when you see her onstage and on film.”

While she sparkled on the huge stadium stage, Adele revealed to Perth fans she wasn’t bothered by the trolls who compared her Grammys gown to Princess Fiona from Shrek. And let’s just remember Princess Fiona kicked butt in that frock.
“I wore this green dress, everyone said I looked like Fiona from Shrek,” she said cackling. “They did. I don’t f**king care it was Givenchy Couture they can say what they want.”
