BEYONCE and her mogul husband, Jay-Z have their fingers in a lot of pies.
But if you want to be like Beyonce, you better make sure it’s a spinach and kale pie.
The superstar diva has partnered with her fitness trainer, Marco Borges, to launch a brand new vegan meal delivery service.
The company is called 22 Days Nutrition and seeks to provide the customer’s with their dietary intake for - that’s right - 22 days.
The idea draws inspiration from the notion that it takes 21 days to break a habit - a popular concept but one that has little scientific underpinning.
Unsurprisingly the food content provided by the service is in step with contemporary health trends and “are 100 per cent plant-based, made with organic ingredients, non-GMO, gluten free, soy free and dairy free.”
A statement released by the company said Beyonce became interested after she “took the 22 Days Nutrition challenge in the winter of 2013 with her husband, JAY Z, and has since made an effort to include more plant-based foods in her everyday diet.”
“If I can do it, anyone can. I am excited to partner with him,” said the singer.
Prices for individual meals range from $A12.50 to $A21.00 each.
Marco Borges is an exercise physiologist and author of popular book, Power Moves: The Four Motions to Transform Your Body for Life.
“I am humbled by this incredible partnership and excited to share the many benefits of a wholefoods plant-based diet,” said Mr. Borges.
While entertainers lend their name to diets all the time, very few can rival the celebrity of Beyonce. While it remains to be seen if her endorsement is enough to get people to go vegan, at the very least we are sure to get some comedic gems like Time Magazine’s; “if you like it you should have put some greens on it.”
