NOT only will Australia’s notoriously publicity-shy Sia Furler be attending this weekend’s 57th Annual Grammy Awards, but she’ll be centre stage.
There was speculation the multi-platinum selling Adelaide artist, known worldwide simply as Sia, would skip the Grammys.
This is despite four nominations, including the elite song and record of the year categories.

Grammy organisers, however, announced the star would perform at music’s biggest awards night held inside the 20,000 seat Staples Centre in downtown Los Angeles.
However it doesn’t mean the audience will see Sia’s face.

The artist is known for wearing a brown paper bag on her head for photo shoots and performing with her back to the crowd.
She also famously performed on the Ellen show with her back turned to the camera.

It could be a historic night of wins for the Australian music industry, with rapper Iggy Azalea also up for four Grammys and country rocker Keith Urban nominated for two.
Azalea and Sia will battle for record of the year.
Azalea is nominated for Fancy, her global hit with Charli XCX, Sia is up for Chandelier while the other nominees in the category are Sam Smith’s Stay With Me, Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off and Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass.

Grammy officials aren’t saying what Sia will perform on stage, but it appears it could be solo.
Organisers announced Beck will perform alongside Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Mary J Blige will sing a duet with Sam Smith and the quartet of Herbie Hancock, John Mayer, Questlove and Ed Sheeran would combine on stage. Sia is listed by herself.
