THE Screen Actors Guild Awards began with a big surprise — Zach Galifianakis looking almost unrecognisable.
During the opening selection of Actor’s Stories – a tradition in which selected thespians describe their career path, closing with the line, “I am an actor” – the Birdman star offered up a rare look at his new trim frame.

The 45-year-old actor, known as much for his bushy beard as his rotund figure, looked noticeably thinner and sported close-shaven facial hair and a man bun.
Galifianakis, whose latest film, Birdman, was nominated for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, is currently filming the movie Masterminds.
This isn’t the first time the Hangover star has shown off his new look. October’s New York Film Festival screening of Birdman was the actor’s first public appearance in over a year.
