WEEKS after the great Oscars stuff up of 2017, a German film awards ceremony descended into chaos when a completely unconvincing Ryan Gosling “lookalike” took to the stage to accept an award on behalf of Gosling’s hit film, La La Land.

The man — actually a cook from Munich named Ludwig Lehner — was put up to the joke by German comedians, Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.

The Goldene Kamera Awards usually focus on talent from within Germany, but also bring in some Hollywood A-listers to take away a prize or two. This year, Jane Fonda, Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell were in the audience.

But the two German comedians thought they’d fool everyone by bringing in the “fake” Gosling.

The two set up a fake agency, saying they could get heart-throb Gosling to appear at the event, provided he won something.

The show’s host Steven Gaetjen could barely contain his excitement as he introduced “one of the hottest stars in Hollywood ... the one and only, Ryan Gosling” to the stage.”

Things got massively awkward when Lehner stepped to the stage to accept his “award” just as the penny dropped on the bewildered faces of Fonda, Kidman and Farrell.

“Good evening, I am Ryan Gosling,” the man declared in a broad German accent.

“I dedicate this award to Joko and Klass, thank you very much. There is a saying in Hamburg, which is, ‘bye, bye!’” he said, before swiftly making his way off stage.

The broadcaster’s translator also provides a voiceover in German, seemingly unaware of what is unfolding.

Poor host Gaetjen twas then forced to explain that there had been a mistake.

Organisers have already reportedly ordered a complete revision of security procedures following the gaffe.

It comes as just weeks after Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were given the wrong Best Picture envelope at the Oscars, mistakenly declaring La La Land as the winner instead of Moonlight. The two PriceWaterhouse Coopers accountants responsible for the error have been ditched from future Oscar telecasts.
