Mariah Carey and her dog Jack are prepping for a Christmas movie.

MARIAH Carey’s next move? An animated version of her hit song All I Want for Christmas is You.

Following a disastrous New Year’s Eve performance, the postponement of her tour opening for Lionel Richie and lukewarm reaction to her reality show, Carey is returning to the world of films.

The All I Want For Christmas is You movie will be released on DVD and streaming later this year.

Carey and controversial manager Stella Bulochnikov are executive producers of the animated movie.

The synopsis is as thus “When young Mariah (voiced by Breanna Yde) sees a darling little puppy named Princess at the pet store, she suddenly knows exactly what she wants for Christmas. But before her Christmas wish can come true, she must prove that she can pet-sit Jack, a scraggly rascal of a dog; in fact, the worst dog in the county! Naughty Jack turns Mariah and her family’s Christmas preparations upside down in hilarious ways. Will Jack dash Mariah’s hopes for her dream puppy? Or will Christmas reveal how love works in surprising and mysterious ways?”

Carey’s last song, I Don’t, was released at the end of the reality show Mariah’s World.

It did not chart in Australia and peaked at No. 89 in the US.
