TONIGHT’S elimination of Albert and Dave Lau from Channel 7’s cooking competition My Kitchen Rules has been overshadowed by an ugly stoush between rival contestants Josh Meeuwissen and Court Hall-Eastley.
The ugly incident occurred as the 15 remaining teams returned to Seven’s cooking show for a new round of challenges.
The top scoring teams from each group — Amy and Tyson Murr (Group 1), Kelsey Lane and Amanda Eid (Group 2), and Valerie and Courtney Ferdinands (Group 3)— rested while the 12 remaining teams cooked off at MKR’s kitchen headquarters.

Six teams were charged with cooking an entree each and the other six a main each from any of judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel’s cook books.
The team that produced the top entree and the team with the top main would be safe from the next two eliminations. But the teams plating up the worst entree and main would go to a sudden death cook-off.

Court and her husband Duncan Hall-Eastley were scored worst entree for their version of Feildel’s mussels with speck and cider.
The couple was sent into an elimination cook-off against Albert and Dave who scored worst main for their take on Feildel’s pearl barley risotto with wild mushrooms.
But it was the bitter verbal stoush between Court and Josh that set the show alight.
A quip by Court that she hoped she would be in the sudden death cook-off against Josh had the Broome deck hand, nicknamed “The Seafood King”, seeing red.
“I think you guys will be going home today, and I hope you do,” Josh hit back. “Some people don’t get along with me. Court’s one of them. I wouldn’t get along with her outside (of My Kitchen Rules).
“I can’t wait for them to go. You can’t wait to go back to your job. You shouldn’t even be here.”

The pair has history and often clashed during the Group 2 instant restaurants. Duncan has publicly called Josh “an a***hole”.
Earlier, Mark Virgona and Chris Jongebloed were judged best entree for their take on Feildel’s king fish with parsnip puree, pickled onions and speck.

That had Court and Duncan, and, Albert and Dave facing a sudden death dessert cook.
Court and Duncan chose to make chocolate pudding with hazelnut shortbread and Chantilly cream. Albert and Dave went for red bean pancake with mango sago soup.

Evans praised Albert and Dave’s sago, saying it “was beautifully flavoured and the combination of mango and grapefruit was nice” but Feildel criticised the pancake saying it was “a little tough, a little chewy and really hard to get through”.
Feildel thought that Court and Duncan’s chocolate pudding was bitter and needed sweetness but it was set properly.
“The spoon was sliding through that chocolate pudding like it should have,” Feildel said.
In a close decision, Court and Duncan were safe with Albert and Dave sent packing.
“I couldn’t have asked for anyone better than my brother to go on this journey together with — I’ll treasure it forever,” Albert said.
