FLIGHT attendants in the past evoked images of glamour and mystic as the golden age of flying was notorious for the beauty standards imposed on the then-called ‘air stewardesses.’

Fortunately we exist in a slightly more enlightened time and such superficial requisites are no longer in play.

However one man clearly didn’t get the memo and took to the Facebook page of Aerolíneas Argentinas (Argentine Airlines) to complain about the appearance of the female flight attendants calling them “short and fat.”

Andres Horacio Pignataro aired his outdated grievances on social media for what he considered to be the “low quality” of the female cabin crew.

In the post which has since been deleted, he wrote, “what gets my attention is the low quality of flight attendants that the company has ... Before they were tall, nice. Now they only take short fat girls.”

The biting rebuttal from the airline was perfect and drew wide appraisal on Twitter.

The company simply responded by posting a list of the physical requirements for cabin crew followed by the line, “your prejudices are not going to fly.”

While Mr. Pignataro’s post garnered a surprising 50 likes, the response from the airline received over ten times the amount.

According to the post from the Argentine carrier, the requirements for becoming a flight attendant with the company included being older than 18 years, between 163cm and 175cm in height for women, or 170cm and 185cm for men, being an Argentine national who can speak English, and possessing the ability to swim.
