Farewell, Tina and Amy: Who should host next year’s Golden Globe Awards?

AFTER three consecutive years running the show, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hanging up their Golden Globes hosting heels. Sad face.

The ladies made sure they went out with a bang, delivering a questionable Bill Cosby roofie joke, a surprise game of Would You Rather and plenty of North Korea jabs throughout the evening.

The comic duo will certainly be missed next year, so who can fill their shoes?

Here’s who might be next in line to be called up for the gig.

Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader:

The Skeleton Twins co-stars presented Best Screenplay during Monday night’s awards show, but it was their banter before reading out the nominees that had the audience giggling, particularly their terrible Schwarzenegger and DeNiro impressions.

The SNL alums’ awkward chemistry caused some to cringe, but their appearance had many speculating on Twitter that the pair could take up the mantle in 2016.

Kristen Wiig should present every award, star in every show, be in every movie and just do literally everything. #GoldenGlobes

Ricky Gervais:

Tina and Amy’s cheeky predecessor famously said after his third polarising year as host, “I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again.” But, returning to the stage last night to present an award, it only took three minutes for Twitter to lit up with requests for the funnyman to make a return to the role he held from 2010 to 2012.

“If we’ve learned one thing, it’s that famous people are above the law, as it should be. I’m not going to get into the terrible things you’ve done to get here tonight,” Gervais joked on stage Monday night.

“Streep ... Clooney ... I’m not even looking at Katie Holmes.”

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris:

Viewers were intrigued by the idea of these two hosting next year after the married couple appeared on stage together to present the award for Best Actress in a TV Series. The duo joked about their “mixed marriage,” with Faris explaining, “I’m CBS, he’s NBC”.

The Mom star already proved that she has some hosting chops at this year’s People’s Choice Awards; imagine if she teamed up with her Guardians of the Galaxy hubby for the Golden Globes next year.

Did everyone see how adorable @prattprattpratt and @AnnaKFaris looked at the golden globes last night? SO DAMN CUTE.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Bryan Cranston:

Remember when they made out during last year’s Emmys? These two sharing the stage as next year’s Golden Globes hosts would be a dream come true for Seinfeld fans, Breaking Bad fanatics — actually pretty much everyone.

Seth Meyers or Jimmy Fallon:

Either of these guys would have to be at the top of NBC’s list, considering their hosting experience and affiliation with the network. Meyers, who presented an award at this year’s show alongside Katie Holmes, hosted the Emmys in 2014 and has also helped Amy and Tina with their Globes material in the past.

Seth Rogen and James Franco:

Our pipedream combo. There was certainly enough chat about them and their controversial film The Interview during this year’s awards show. The hilarious duo have had a tough few months with the Sony hacking scandal, so perhaps NBC should gift them this one as a bit of a distraction.

Besides, Franco deserves a chance to redeem himself after his disastrous 2011 Oscars co-hosting gig with Anne Hathaway.
