AS THE host of G’Day USA in Los Angeles later this month, Nicole Kidman will be joined by Geoffrey Rush to honour celluloid man-of-the-moment, Chris Hemsworth.
Chris ‘Thor’ Hemsworth will be honoured with an ‘excellence in film’ Award at the 10th, G’Day USA event at the Hollywood Palladium on January 31, a night that promises to be reinvigorated from the old-school vestiges of past years, with the addition of Ms Kidman as event host.
G’DAY have partnered with the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) for this year’s event with the 4th AACTA International Awards being the centrepiece of the night. There will be seven awards given that acknowledge excellence in international film.

During the night, guests will enjoy a dining ‘adventure’ based on LA street food made with premium Australian produce curated by Australian chef Neil Perry and US chef, Tom Colicchio.
Held annually since 2004, G’Day USA is a program of public diplomacy with the aim to promote a broad range of Australian capabilities in the United States. It produced by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Qantas Airways, Tourism Australia and Austrade.
Meanwhile the AACTA International awards recognise film excellence regardless of geography and are determined by members of AACTA’s International Chapter, which comprises more than 140 of Australia’s most recognised filmmakers and executives.
