Sharni Vinson goes from Summer Bay to Beijing queen

RISING Aussie Hollywood star Sharni Vinson has paid tribute to the show that gave her an initial start in acting - Home and Away.

Unlike fellow alumni Melissa George, Vinson, who was on the show from 2004-2008, said without it she wouldn’t have made it in the big time in Tinsletown.

“I am so proud of that show and am so honoured to have been part of it,” she said.

“Without Home and Away, I wouldn’t have been where I am now.

“They just know how to cast right, and I’ve seen it happen over and over again.

“They cast a lot of people like myself, who haven’t had any real acting experience in the past, but they see something behind that.

“They recognise initial talent and they work you and teach you and train you.

“It sets you up with anything you will every need over here.”

Vinson this will head to China for a week promoting her new film Dragon Blade, where she stars opposite Jackie Chan, Joan Cusack and Adrien Brody.

“I play the Queen of the Roman empire.

“Im so excited to be hanging out with those cats again, I think they are really kind of cool.”
